All facts about Bad Bunny and his sexuality

As one of the most promising Latin artists, Bad Bunny is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from Puerto Rico. Many people assumed that Bad Bunny is gay, what is the truth? Read the article below to learn more about his sexuality and dating life.

I. Is Bad Bunny gay?

Rapper Bad Bunny has long supported LGBTQ causes, but until now, he has never spoken out about his own sexual orientation.

In an interview with the LA Times, the Puerto Rican recording artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martnez Ocasio, discussed the issue and said that, like many people in his generation, he sees himself as fluid.

He claims, "I am not defined by it." "At the end of the day, I'm not sure if I'll like men in 20 years. In life, one can never be sure. But right now I'm heterosexual and I like women”, he continues.

One of the most streamed artists in the world, the 25-year-old rapper has long supported the LGBTQ community. He led demonstrations against the governor of Puerto Rico and his views on gender and sexuality. His videos have featured same-sex couples and transgender women. On social media, he has praised women who don't shave their body hair, called out a nail salon that refused to serve him, and criticized reggaeton singer Don Omar for making homophobic remarks.

As he claimed himself is heterosexual, it’s safe to say that Bad Bunny is straight.

II. Bad Bunny Dating History

Even his current rumored relationship with Gabriela Berlingeri and Bad Bunny's past relationships remain a mystery.

1. Who is Bad Bunny dating?

While having dinner with his family in 2017, he ran into jewelry designer Gabriela Berlingeri, and the two soon started dating. Nevertheless, he didn't publicly acknowledge their relationship until 2020. He later gave the following reason: "I am happy with her.

People are unaware of how much she has aided me emotionally when I have needed it most. She also assisted him in recording the song Te Guste from 2018 by contributing scratch vocals for Jennifer Lopez's verses. When she photographed the rapper for Rolling Stone's May 2020 cover, she made history as the first Latina to do so.

2. Is Bad Bunny and Gabriela Berlingeri engaged?

Bad Bunny reportedly had a long-term relationship with his now-ex-girlfriend, Carliz de la Cruz, before meeting Berlingeri. They split up in April 2017, the same month he met Gabriela, after a five-year relationship.

Model and jewelry designer Berlingeri has also appeared in some of Bunny's songs. She is listed as a vocalist in his song En Casita, which translates to In a small house, on his 2020 album Las Que No Iban a Salir.

Fans caught a sneaky Bunny video of Berlingeri wearing a diamond stone on her ring finger in August 2021. This led to rumors that the two were married or at the very least engaged. The famous rapper would vehemently deny that they had wed in a subsequent interview, though he did allude to the fact that they were now engaged.

However, the lack of recent social media photos of the two together (up until the summer of 2022, Bad Bunny posted many photos alone) makes things more difficult. Additionally, Bunny's dating history isn't as straightforward as fans might have thought.

III. Is there any possibility that Bad Bunny is bisexual?

When his music video for "Caro" was released in January, many people speculated that Bad Bunny was coming out. In the video, the rapper gets his nails done while watching a fashion show and then transforms into model Jazmyne Joy's portrayal of a female version of himself. Later, when he comes back, he kisses both himself and another man.

At the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, Bad Bunny won the coveted Artist of the Year award, making history as the first non-English act to do so. However, much of the online discussion about the reggaeton star has centered around him kissing a male dancer during a performance.

Most posts in this online discussion, which is an incredibly out-of-date oversimplification, claim that Bunny is now officially "gay" or "at least bi." There are also those who contend that Bunny is "queerbaiting" audiences for attention because his career has recently suffered. Last but not least, some people have even gone so far as to contrast Bunny's on-stage gay kiss with Harry Styles' recent comments made in interviews.

The facts come first. "Titi Me Pregunto," a song by Bunny, is about how your aunts bug you about your girlfriends at family gatherings. No matter which responses you are able to provide, the song discusses the pressures of having to answer that question. Although the song doesn't have a queer perspective, queer people can definitely relate to this dynamic.

During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Bunny made one of his most significant remarks regarding his sexual orientation. According to the reggaeton musician, sexuality "doesn't define" him, he continued, adding: "At the end of the day, I don't know if I will like a man in 20 years. In life, nothing is certain. I like women right now, though, and I identify as heterosexual." Bunny is very clearly identified as a heterosexual man who doesn't rule out being with men in the future rather than avoiding the subject and providing non-answers. In other words, he is honest about the fluidity of his sexuality. Therefore, there’s no possibility to claim that Bad Bunny is bisexual, he is for sure straight.
